Why XiangqiAtlas

An AI that explains, practice that fits you

AI that explains

Every move, explained in words you understand

Moves and evaluations come from the Fairy-Stockfish engine. Atlas turns them into plain words: what was good, what went wrong, and what to think about next.

  • Game reviews mark the moves where the game turned
  • Ask any time: "Why doesn't this work?"
  • Atlas explains. It never judges, and never plays for you

Knows you

Find the mistakes you repeat, then train them

We look through your games for the mistakes that keep coming back, map your strengths across 8 skills, and point your practice where it matters most.

  • 8 skills, from openings and checkmates to defence and converting an advantage
  • A daily practice set built on your weak spots
  • Your next games show whether you've improved

Knows you

How it gets to know you

  1. 01

    Spot the weak spots

We analyse your games against the computer and your friends and find the mistakes that come back again and again.

  2. 02

    Practise them

Puzzles and lessons picked for your weak spots. A few minutes a day, always on the positions where you actually lose points.

  3. 03

    Check your progress

Keep playing. Your new games show whether the same mistake still happens, and your profile updates with them.

Weak spots are found by fixed rules applied to engine data, not guessed by an AI. The same games always give the same result.

All in one app

Everything you need to play and improve

  • Play the computer

12 levels and 4 styles, with takebacks, hints and a one-tap review after every game.

  • Puzzles and endgames

From positions in the classic manuals to engine-checked practical positions, one puzzle at a time.

  • Learn from zero

Never played? Start with how each piece moves and try every rule on the board as you learn.

  • Import and review

Paste a game, import PGN or XQF files, or enter moves by hand. The engine analyses, Atlas explains, and it all feeds your profile.

  • Pass and play

Play a friend on one phone, taking turns. The board flips for each player.

  • Works offline

The engine runs on your phone, so games against the computer and built-in puzzles need no connection.

FAQ

Before you download

Is it free?

Yes, it's free to download. You can play the computer, solve puzzles and learn the rules for free; features like asking Atlas and game reviews have a daily free allowance. XiangqiAtlas Pro (monthly, yearly or a one-time lifetime purchase) lifts the daily limits, within fair use, and removes interstitial ads.

I've never played xiangqi. Can I still use it?

Yes. The rules course starts with how each piece moves, and by the end you can play a full game against the lowest level. Atlas Sparring gives you a nudge at the key moments.

Does it work without internet?

Yes. The engine runs on your phone, so games against the computer, puzzles and on-device reviews work offline. Atlas's plain-word explanations and account sync need a connection.

Does Atlas play for me?

No. Moves and evaluations come from the Fairy-Stockfish engine, and weak spots are found by fixed rules. Atlas only puts those results into words. It never judges and never plays.

What's the difference between the APK and the Google Play version?

It's the same app. If your phone doesn't have Google Play, you can install the APK directly. The APK doesn't update through Google Play; the app tells you when a new version is out. Only download it from the links on this page.

Which phones and languages are supported?

iPhone with iOS 15 or later, and Android phones with Android 7.0 or later. The app is available in English, Tiếng Việt, 简体中文, 繁體中文(台灣) and 繁體中文(香港). Move notation can be switched between Chinese, Vietnamese, WXF and ICCS.
